Although Spring wasn’t to officially begin for a couple more weeks, we at SAVVY got a bit of a head start on the season, bidding adieu to winter rain and gloom and welcoming bright spring blooms. What better way to beckon the arrival of Spring but with a birthday party?
When the Choi family approached Jennifer for their event, they requested shades of pink, orange, and green for the party elements. Since the majority of their guests were adults, Jennifer set out to design an event that strikes the delicate balance of being chic and sophisticated as well as playful befitting a child’s party.
Jennifer and the SAVVY team transformed the room from a blank white canvas to an inviting event space. Lights, candles, and draped sheers provided drama, while pops of spring color found in the floral centerpieces, table settings, and dessert table added cheerfulness to the room. During the cocktail hour, guests enjoyed custom Italian sodas served alongside mushroom cappuccino shooters, tuna tartare tacos, and beef wellingtons. For dinner, interactive stations offered shrimp scampi pasta; honey and truffle glazed sea bass topped with tomato caponata and served with caramelized shallot orzo; and carved tri tip served with mixed herb salad tossed with toasted farro, dates, cranberries manchego, and toasted marcona almonds. Dessert included macarons and traditional Korean rice cakes. The stations not only offered varied dining options, but they also encouraged guests to move through the space to casually dine and chat with friends.
